...About My Country

Lebanon.
A beautiful country, smaller than the size of PEI.
Once called "the Paris of the Middle East".
Runied because of the war but was on the verge of rebuilding itself.
Becoming once again the beautiful country that it once was, with people so live and full of energy.
Now..
Destruction.
Innocent people being killed, homes being ruined...and for what?
I don't know.
Lebanon has absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand between Isreal and the Hezbolah.
But yet we are the ones that are being attacked.
The Airport-gone.
Main roads and bridges- gone.
Gas stations- gone.
Homes- gone.
People- going...

The images I see on the news are horrifying...no, not the images they show you on CNN- they don't give you the real thing. I am talking about what I am exposed to on the Arabic stations. If only everyone else saw it to, they would have a better understanding of how bad things are.
My family is safe. They are not in the area that is being attacked, neither are they Isreal's target. But then again, you never know. And that's scary. I mean, in my home in Lebanon, you stand on the balcony and you can see the airport. It's far away so that we are not effected by it but still close enough that I can see the runway and the med. sea. It's crazy.

I pray for my family.
I pray for my people.
I pray for my country.
I pray for this senseless war to end.

Its totally sad. I was thinking about the situation at work today. I find it interesting the language the media uses to describe the event.

I pray too for everyone in the mist of that destruction.
